Ramsey Rugby Club

Michel Roux Jr

The amazing community over at Ramsey Rugby Club came together at the beginning of lockdown to set up a delivery service for isolating and vulnerable people all over the North of the Island!

Dave Harding and Gareth Hinge were the main organisers behind the taskforce but rallied together members of the club including wives, girlfriends and children who were all keen to help out. Once awareness of the service was raised through handing out leaflets, orders began being made to the Isle of Man Creamery and Ramsey Bakery. The team were then able to gather shopping lists for those who needed it and delivered essential items and prescriptions.

Overall, the club estimate that they reached more than 200 people from the start of lockdown in March all the way through until the final restrictions were lifted in June, with their deliveries stretching right across the north of the Island.

Ramsey Rugby Club have really gone beyond all expectations for helping out during lockdown and we are sure they have made a huge impact on the Northern community. Thanks Ramsey Rugby Club!
